A Lady’s Guide to Fortune Hunting

Jane Austen fans get ready to be AMAZED! (You certainly don’t have to be a Jane Austen fan or even read any of her books to enjoy A Lady’s Guide To Fortune Hunting by Sofie Irwin, but if you do enjoy Miss Austen’s writings this one will thrill you!)

Set in the Regency era this little book is full of luxurious balls and walks through art galleries and beautiful parks, quippy remarks and a delightful romantic theme! I fell head over heels for this book and, though I didn’t think it possible to love a broody, intelligent, and witty character more than Mr. Darcy… let’s just say my mind has changed. A Lady’s Guide to Fortune Hunting is a romance novel but the romance is not overwhelming and there is nothing inappropriate about it.

Kitty Talbot is faced with quite the dilemma… She must procure a very rich fiance before her house is taken away and her and her sisters are left impoverished and bound for a life of a lowly governess or laundry maid. But as it turns out finding a wealthy husband might be a bit more tricky than Kitty bargained for. Kitty and one of her sisters are thrown headlong into London at the very beginning of the season and they must figure out how to blend in as young ladies of society. But Lord Radcliffe certainly does not make things easy on Kitty and threatens to completely expose her plot and deposit her right back where she started.

This book is an easy but delightful read that pairs well with a cup of tea and a tray full of cookies, and a fluffy blanket! Warning~ May encourage romantic tendencies.~ *wink* Happy Reading!!
