For All Readers

These books are perfect for readers of all ages, from children to their grandparents. Enjoy!

My number one all time favorite Fantasy series is C.S.Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia. If you have not read these books then I think it’s about time! Throughout the seven books you will watch the formation of Narnia in The Magician’s Nephew , go through the Golden Age of the kings and queens, and end up with the epic conclusion The Last Battle (The name basically explains it all! 🙂 ). These books are great for kids, but all age groups should read them, including parents!
Holling Hoodhood is the only presbyterian in his class and this causes a whole bunch of problems for him. So while the rest of his class either goes off to either Tora school or Catechism, he, Holling Hoodhood, has to stay with his teacher Mrs. baker who he is positive hates his guts.
And when he thinks things can’t get any worse, she makes him read Shakespeare. Shakespeare! But slowly he starts to enjoy Shakespeare and even has some lines memorized! All of seventh grade is full of adventure for Holling, and two evil minded rats names Sycorax and Caliban that leave everyone with chills. This book is full of wonderful humor that will make you giggle and belly laugh while reading!
The Wednesday Wars will leave you wanting to read all of the bards great plays, and will fill your heart up with humor, emotion, and more humor!
(This book is not directly connected to OK for now, but there are some intertwining characters. So if you want to read them in order read this one first. But it is not a problem if you want to read others before this one.)
Anne Shirley is an orphan with a wild imagination and bright red hair to match. When she first comes to the little town of Avonlea on Prince Edward Island her mind is full of hope and expectation, but when she realizes that the Cuthbert’s wanted a boy instead of a little girl, her heart is crushed and she falls into the “depths of despair.” Thankfully things take a good turn and she finally finds a true bosom friend and the feeling of love that she always craved.
Anne is also prone to “getting into scrapes” and boy does she get into quite a few, but you will find yourself laughing and smiling until your face hurts as you read all about Anne’s antics! You will absolutely fall in love with the characters and feel as if you too have been transported to Avonlea as Anne walks through the “White Way of Delight,” and past the “Lake of Shining Waters”.
